ONLINE COURSES FOR DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS - INDIVIDUALS
Online courses are open for general registration by individuals. They are run intermittently and are offered as either Regular or Intensive courses with Speciality courses offered at times. All courses are open to beginner and advanced participants, who can be either technically or operationally-focused, as individualized learning paths are designed for each participant. Each course is facilitated by a group of facilitators who are announced at the time of the course. 
  • Regular Courses are run over a period of twelve weeks and require approximately one to two hours of online class time each week (on the participant's own schedule). Participants are allowed to make up time in weeks when they cannot participate.
  • Intensive Courses are delivered on a tighter than normal schedule, with more online class time each week, but fewer weeks. MSA Intensive Courses are run over a period of four weeks and require approximately three to six hours of time each week (on the participant's own schedule). 
  • Speciality Courses are delivered intermittently online over a period of three weeks and focus on specific topic areas. These include courses on:
    • Market Systems Development 101 and 201
    • Adaptive Management 101 and 201
    • Monitoring & Evaluation of Market Systems 101
    • Market Systems Development in Practice 101, 201 and 301
​​Participants collect online badges for all of the modules completed within the online courses which qualify them for certification of specific MSA specialty courses.

ONLINE COURSES FOR DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS - PROJECT TEAMS OR DONOR TEAMS
Online courses for project or donor teams are most ideal for field-based implementing projects or regional donor teams.  Teams of participants are given ongoing access to resources and tools on the platform and are able to work through course materials as needed. New staff can be easily onboarded using the online learning system, allowing easy integration of new staff and a mechanism through which new staff acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors for effective market systems development programming. Participants receive:
  • On-demand access to course modules.
  • On-demand access to resources, tools and templates.
  • Facilitated Team Learning Challenges (four weeks each). Learning Challenges use a competitive process during a focused learning period where team members have fun competing for points while working through specific learning modules. Learning Challenges are very effective at encouraging entire teams to engage in online learning in a fun, participative environment.
Participants collect online badges for all of the modules completed within the online courses which qualify them for certification of specific MSA specialty courses. 
Team registration fees:
  • Learning Platform Set Up Fee (once-off per team): $1,000
  • User License:
    • Basic license: Less than 15 participants: $250 per participant (for 1 year access)
    • Standard license: 15 - 40 participants: $200 per participant (for 1 year access)
    • Bulk license: More than 41 participants: $150 per participant (for 1 year access)
  • Optional Facilitated Team Learning Challenges: $1,000 per challenge (recommended: two challenges per team)
  • Optional customized platform: Price dependent on level of customization.
  • Optional new learning module design: $4,000 per module (for teams with specific requests not yet included in platform)

IN-PERSON LEARNING RETREATS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS
In-person learning events introduce the latest learning and thinking in market systems development and further explore the conceptual and practical application covered in the MSA online course. Guest speakers share examples of practical strategies from the private sector of innovations in developing markets that apply to market systems development approaches. 

In-person learning retreats are open to all MSA alumni. This ensures that all participants have a base understanding of market systems concepts and approaches prior to the event to increase the depth of discussion and learning during the event. (Participants qualify so long as a minimum number of modules in the MSA online course are completed before the start of the in-person learning event.)

Online courses for firms are customized for firms operating in the input supply distribution industry or the output buyer supply chain management industry. Firms are able to learn about how to implement specific business strategies that can grow their operations. Input supply firms are introduced to investments which can enhance their customer-focused mindset. Processing and buying firms are introduced to investments which can strengthen their supply chain management.
